Delicious stories…
We were looking for a secluded spot that offered an oasis of calm away from the hustle and bustle of the city. We wanted to create stories, fairy tales, to make every day a new tab. The Deer’s Rest brings together fairytale landscapes from 2014. Since then, it has been a friend of the Lighed forest, witness to its anxious journey, to all things good and not so good.
A picturesque forest area, near the village that bears his name. It offers many opportunities for recreation and outdoor activities. A walk in nature sings to the linear tunes of oaks, beech, hornbeam, sometimes even fir or other species.
…with a hint of legend
Legend has it that in a magical place near the forest, a deer sought an oasis of calm in a natural and friendly environment. She was looking for a place to shelter and be safe. In the same way, we humans look for something special in every place to help us get away from the everyday and give us security. The place where it rests can also be the place where we refresh ourselves and get our much-needed dose of energy.
Why are we different?
Natural beauty is our daily dose of inspiration. It helps us get through each day and look forward to the next with optimism. We don’t shy away from showing it how much it means to us and we believe it makes us unique. We don’t have customers, we have friends, and every reason for them to rejoice is a new chapter in the Popas story. We want every visit for them to be special, to feel at home and to remember us with a smile on their face when they tell their loved ones about us. We love to give, even more than to receive. To give fairytale moments, to give our attention, to give involvement and dedication to every friend who crosses our threshold. When the weeds are deserted and the atmosphere dreary, we retreat to the deer, to listen to stories from their world.

a year agoA great location ruined by mediocre food. Located a few kilometers from Timișoara, the hotel/restaurant is located in a quiet location, surrounded by nature. There's a spacious garden, plenty of parking spaces, a playground for children, and even an outdoor pool. Our waiters were really friendly but somewhat slow with our orders. They didn't seem very knowledgeable about the available ingredients but at least were willing to ask the kitchen staff. Unfortunately the food was subpar and unreasonably expensive. The carbonara sauce was most likely was store-bought (tasted as such), the BBQ sauce served with the pork ribs was also store-bought. The walnut dessert was probably the only one hand-made and it was full of hard walnut shells. I can't explain the sky-high prices for the food, considering the quality and ingredients being used.

2 years agoThe place is pretty nice. We came during the winter and during the pandemic so there were very few people around. The food was good and the waiter was really nice and professional. The area is probably nicer during summer or winter with snow, the forest starts at the entrance of the yard so you can take a nice walk through the woods. It doesn’t seem to be many things to do in the area other than the forest and maybe a stroll next to the Timis river.

3 years agoWe had our Team-building here and it was very nice. The place is outside the city so it is quiet and calm, they have given us a room so it could be private and we had also projector and other technical facilities, so all our team-building plans could be fulfilled. We had also a walk outside, since the place is large and has a forest nearby. They have also a pool outside, but it was to cold for us in September to use it. The food and service was good and is not too expensive. I recommend it.

Very clean and the staff is nice, breakfast included, i know it's not in the city but if you want a quiet place that is surrounded by nature and forest this is the place for you, the rooms are large, modern bathroom, again i have to mention- very very clean- and the balcony is amazing quite nice to drink coffee and watch the scenery.
