Sultan Mehmet Restaurant offers a rustic, relaxed family atmosphere. Customers who delight us with their presence from the moment they step onto the Sultan’s domain, they become his guests. You are welcome to try the delicacies of the vast Turkish cuisine prepared especially for you in a specially equipped kitchen with a wood oven and a barbecue. The restaurant is located in Brasov, on Griviței street no. 1W, near IVECO.
In 2013 we set out in search of the two aspects that we respect above all: quality and flavour.Turkish cuisine has a long history, today it is largely the legacy of Ottoman cuisine, which can be described as a refined fusion of Central Asian, Middle Eastern and Balkan cuisines. Turkish cuisine has influenced the cuisines of its neighbours, including Romania. Recipes differ from one area to another, depending on traditions and geography. The South is famous for its kebab, baclava and cataif recipes. In the east, Turkish cuisine makes extensive use of olives and olive oil due to their intensive cultivation in the area. Fish and corn are widely consumed on the Black Sea coast due to Slavic and Balkan influences. Vegetables and greens are a common part of the food in the areas around the Mediterranean, Aegean and Marmara Seas.
Central Anatolia has many specialties, such as keskek, manti and gozleme. Beans, tomatoes, peppers, aubergines are the main ingredients of the Tukçe cuisine. Pistachios, almonds and walnuts are used in desserts. In Turkish cuisine, fruit compote is eaten with pilaf or meat pies. Aubergines play an important role in Turkish cuisine. It is combined with minced meat, used in kebabs, musaca. Yoghurt is also popular and can accompany most meals containing meat, rice or bread. Ayran is one of the most famous Turkish drinks, made from yoghurt mixed with water and salt. Romania has also borrowed many traditional Turkish recipes but these have been slightly modified to suit our preferences.
We look forward to welcoming you on Griviței Street no. 1W, Brasov, to enjoy the tastes that made Turkey famous!

4 months agoI had the worst experience ever. The place smells bad and the food is very greasy 🤮 The food is a poor imitation of Turkish cuisine, they don't respect the traditional recipe. Coffee tastes awful, they brought the food but they didn't bring the cutlery. I ordered Sultan Kebab and I got something totally different from what the recipe looks like and also the meat was raw. I told the waiter the food was not ok but he didn't care, he said will check with the chef instead of cooking it better and the reply was that the meat was looking like that because of the spices they used. I refused the dish and they still asked me to pay which is totally not ok because I didn't have that food. I had beef soup and houmus which were mediocre and one hour after eating I had digestion problems. I totally don't recommend this place !!! I lived in Istanbul for 2 years so I know what I'm talking about!

2 months agoWe used the restaurant part of this place. When we searched for a Turkish restaurant in Brasova, it came up as a spacious place with nice and delicious food. I especially recommend the küşleme dish and the trilice dessert. The parking lot is huge. the garden is very beautiful. There is also a nice playground for children. a Turkish waiter named Süleyman helped us. We left very satisfied. thanks
